When Creatief Schrijven vzw and Uitgeverij Lannoo asked us to design their new writing guide, we were all in. With 52 chapters of theory, exercises and creative nudges, it is built to help anyone from cautious beginners to seasoned storytellers take the leap into writing. As lovers of both words and design, we could not wait to craft a visual language that would make people want to open the book, pick up a pen and start.
the mission
We wanted the design to feel fresh, accessible and encouraging, something readers would want to keep on their desk and return to week after week. The bold coral cover draws you in immediately, while the black and white inside pages with hand drawn illustrations give focus and calm. The visual identity needed to balance clarity and playfulness, mirroring the creative process itself.

The book has become a companion for anyone wanting to write, blending clear guidance with a spark of playfulness. It encourages readers to explore, experiment and surprise themselves, turning hesitation into words and words into stories.
