For Wat je sterrenbeeld je vertelt (What Your Star Sign Tells You), we worked on a book that gives astrology a contemporary, accessible look. Esther van Heerebeek brings the zodiac to life with insights that invite self-reflection and connection, and we got to translate that spirit into image and form. For publisher Lannoo, we designed the visual identity, layout and illustrations for this modern take on astrology.
the mission
Our goal was to capture astrology in a visual language that feels both playful and grounded. We built a graphic system around bold typography, a recurring eye motif and a distinct colour palette per sign, letting each chapter stand on its own while remaining part of one unified whole.
the results
We created a full cast of zodiac illustrations, each rooted in the animal or symbol of its sign — some merging into a human silhouette, others staying purely abstract. Recurring details, like an eye or a heart, bind the spreads together without making the illustrations feel repetitive. Bold type and a shifting palette set the rhythm from chapter to chapter, giving every sign its own tone within a single, coherent design.
