Her husband's favourite old shirt and a love for fashion inspired Gaëlle to start creating, first for her own kids, later on for friends until Les Essentiels de Gaëlle was born. She upcycles that shirt your dad wore when you were little for his grandchildren, or the one that your fiancée wore on your first date to dress your firstborn. We're talking circular fashion, playful and stylish, with a french vibe.
Starting off as a passion project, Les Essentiels de Gaëlle is growing into much more than that. A professional visual identity, dynamic and extensive in its use for now and the future growth was what we were going for.
We created a fun, classy identity built around 3 different patterns inspired by the fabrics often used for shirts. As Gaëlles designs are neat and classic and anything but boring, the identity is too. White became the ultimate basic colour, while a rich dark blue is used for the elegant logo. A playful touch is added with colourful patterns, a total of 7 x 3, that gives 21 options. Wow. Let’s go back to its simplicity though: the use is simple, a website in a maximum of 2 colours, with 3 patterns. Packaging could be in 1 pattern but all different colours. Mix and match, as you would in your wardrobe, but remembering that less is more.
